For information about AIB Travel Insurance and your entitlements to claim for holidays affected by volcanic ash, please select from the following:
Although there is no cover under the policy for costs as a result of volcanic ash affecting your holidays, we are honouring claims made under the travel delay and abandonment sections of AIB Travel Insurance, in accordance with the terms and conditions of those sections. If you bought an annual travel insurance policy, only the holidays you booked before 15 April 2010 will be covered under the travel delay and abandonment sections of AIB Travel Insurance.
If your policy was bought or the holiday was booked after the volcano erupted, and the continuing disruption is as a result of the ongoing volcanic eruptions. As this was a known event at the time you bought your policy or booked the holiday, there is no cover for costs as a result of volcanic ash affecting your holidays. If you believe there are specific circumstances relating to your claim that we need to understand, then you should submit your claim to us for consideration. You can download a claim form from the website.
Only the holidays you booked before 15th April 2010 can be considered for volcanic ash claims under the travel delay and abandonment sections of AIB Travel Insurance.
As the ongoing eruption of the Iceland volcano is a known event, there is no cover for costs as a result of volcanic ash affecting your holidays.
